Well that was short lived.

The Rangers made some additional cuts this evening, releasing Kirill Kabanov and some guy named Jayden Hart from their PTOs. Richard Nejezchleb and a Travis Oleksuk were re-assigned to Hartford. Kabanov had what amounted to about five days to impress the Rangers brass and he left them wanting. The writing was on the wall when he wasn’t in the lineup tonight and had only played in one of a possible three games. He didn’t leave much to evaluate in his one pre-season game against the Flyers and there already wasn’t a roster spot for him on the Rangers.
Oh well. It’s a shame too, I just learned how to confidently type his name.
