Rangers Recall JT Miller

The New York Rangers have recalled JT Miller today, just ahead of the first round playoff matchup with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Wolf Pack’s season is practically over and I would expect an influx of ‘black aces’ in the near future. Miller was scolded in the media by Alain Vigneault on April 2nd, following his demotion to Hartford.

Jesper Fast has fit nicely in his brief stint on the third line with Brad Richards and Carl Hagelin. But it makes sense to get Miller up early to practice with the club and provide an option. But my guess is he will be keeping Justin Falk company come game time. I would hope that if Vigneault feels the need to remove Fast mid-series, he opts for Miller over Carcillo.

Fast does some things that JT Miller doesn’t- effective backchecker, not so full of himself, effective in all 3 zones
