New York Rangers v New York Islanders

Rangers-Islanders Rivalry Renewed

January 13th, 2015 at 8:39 am by Ross Rhea

The Rangers and Islanders will square off at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night in front of a packed house for what Alain Vigneault is calling a “New York Classic.”  The organizations are not unfamiliar with one another as they see each other 4-5 times a year in the regular season, however, this game means more to both

Rangers Continue To Roll

January 8th, 2015 at 12:20 pm by Ross Rhea

It’s 2015 and about time we get this thing started up again. The last month has been really busy with full-time jobs and the holidays, but it’s time to start making some time again to bring Rangers and other NHL news to you. On December 1, I wrote about the Rangers needing to find consistency

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday. It’s been a rough stretch for us with “real” work getting in the way, but I hope to get going after the break again. World Juniors coming up next week so you may see a preview going into the weekend! Everyone have a good one!

Healthy Rangers Lineup Needs Consistency

December 1st, 2014 at 10:20 am by Ross Rhea

As of Monday, the Rangers sat in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division with 26 points, an 11-8-4 record behind that number. Considering that wouldn’t be good enough for a playoff spot in any other division right now, it shows the Rangers have plenty of work to do now that they are healthy. Ryan McDonagh and Dan

Metropolitan Divison: Through The First 20

November 25th, 2014 at 7:00 am by Ross Rhea

After Monday night, all 8 Metropolitan Division teams will have played at least 20 games, which pretty much means 1/4 of the NHL regular season is already over. There still is plenty of time to gain ground, however, early season trends usually will help show how a team fits in their division and a possible

Rangers-Sabres Game Tomorrow Postponed

November 20th, 2014 at 3:44 pm by Ross Rhea

The Rangers and Sabres game scheduled for Friday, November 21, at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo has been postponed due to the insane amount of snow that has and is continuing to hit the area. No make-up date has been announced just yet for the game. I hope this isn’t forecasting what winter could

Kaberle rejects Rangers contract offer, life goes on

November 17th, 2014 at 2:43 pm by Bill

Tomas Kaberle rejected the Rangers contract offer, which was presumably a two-way contract that would have kept in Hartford for the time being.

Go back to living your life.

Let’s not flip our collective shit about the Rangers signing Tomas Kaberle

November 17th, 2014 at 11:37 am by Bill

I realize that the Rangers intranet is going to burst if (or when) the organization signs Tomas Kaberle this afternoon, but lets all drink down a nice tall glass of calming liquid.

The Rangers have been pushed to the brink of their organizational depth on defense. We’ve already seen Dylan McIlrath, Mike Kostka, Conor Allen, and Matt Hunwick this season. Adding in another body, even one that is just that, a body of a player who hasn’t been relevant in three years, is an improvement of sorts.

Referee’s Crease: Late or Not, No Goal Call Stands

November 17th, 2014 at 7:00 am by Ross Rhea

I’m a referee, which means you probably hate me. But it also means I know what the right or wrong call is. Whenever there is a controversial call, I will weigh in with impunity. The game was over, the teams had began to leave the ice surface, fans filed out, and the New York Rangers had

Dan Boyle To Play Tonight

November 13th, 2014 at 2:28 pm by Ross Rhea

The Rangers have announced the Dan Boyle will return to the lineup tonight after missing about 5 weeks with a broken hand. He sustained that injury on opening night against the St. Louis Blues when he blocked a slap shot. The will be Boyle’s MSG debut wearing a Rangers uniform. After practice this morning, he spoke
